This year saw the
resurrection of the Lalique Competition with Bath Archers. This
competition was held annually, alternating between South Wilts and Bath
but was for some reason stopped. With thanks to the various club members
who tracked down the trophy and contacted Bath to start it up again, the
competition will now be a regular annual event!
The round chosen was a Western (4 dozen
at 60yrds and 4 dozen at 50yrds) with the SWAC archers nominated and
matched with the Bath Archers (5 gent recurves and one lady recurve).
Unfortunately for SWAC, Bath pipped us at the post with a combined score
of 4267
compared to our 4214
(only 53 points in it!).
The wonderful archers from Bath have now
said that they would be willing to host next year's shoot at their
ground - so watch this space!!!
