SWAC 2nd Xmas Handicap Shoot
 

It was a very cold day at Britford Lane but over 20 archers and their family braved the freeze for a day's shooting. Adults and Under 18s shot a St Nicholas round (4 dozen at 40yrds & 3 dozen at 30yrds) and the Under 14s shot a Short Junior National (4 dozen at 30yrds and 2 dozen at 20yrds). All followed by mince pies and mulled wine!

Many new records were set on the day as well as one being broken (see below). As the shoot was a handicap shoot - all archers were able to compete at the same level - you just had to shoot well for yourself! Medals and a special Christmas present were handed out for the winners.

Many thanks to Sarah Hart for being our Lady Paramount, Mark Phillips for the catering and to the committee for organising it. Next year the shoot will take place on the 19th December 2010 - so put it in your diaries!
